Rhino Post SAfari Lodge has been offering a chic alternative to a traditional Kruger safari holiday since 2003, and what a fabulous time it has been! We have been nominated for and received various awards and developed a following of regular guests and friends that we look forward to seeing every year. Visitors to our lodge are often surprised and charmed by the uniqueness that is Rhino Post – we are not a standard Kruger Park nor a trendy private lodge experience. Our guests love us and keep us busy with referrals and repeat visits. It’s these guests that know we are different and value the reasons why.

BIG 5 GAME DRIVES
The safari game drives utilise the vast network of roads in the park as we explore the incredible biodiversity that makes Kruger a world icon. We are privileged to continue after dark when the self-drive tourists are required to return to their camps, allowing our guests the opportunity to experience the magic of Kruger at night. We are proud of the fact that we do not drive off-road – both out of respect for nature, thus ensuring its long-term sustainability but because in the Kruger Park, it’s just not necessary. The animals often take advantage of the smooth tarred roads along the most popular routes, allowing us to see more game in the winter months because the roads are not only warm but close to rivers and water sources.

THATCH, CANVAS AND WOOD LODGES
This ecologically friendly lodge is a mere 30 minutes’ drive from Skukuza Airport. The concession shares a boundary with Mala Mala private game reserve, allowing animals to move freely between the two game reserves.
With eight thatched, canvas and wood suites on stilts overlooking a dry riverbed, Rhino Post SAfari Lodge is the perfect destination for those who wish to experience the Kruger Park in style, without diminishing the wilderness ambience. The lodge overlooks the perennially dry Mutlumuvi riverbed. With wooden decks built around a forest of riverine trees, shade is plentiful. Raised wooden walkways link eight thatched suites each offering their own outdoor shower and private deck.

Rhino Post SAfari Lodge is named after a rhino rubbing post discovered in the area just east of what is now the car park. A resident rhino rubbed up against a wooden post to such an extent that it became as smooth and glossy as a lovingly polished piece of furniture.
